Trap
Walking through forest,
The golden sunlight of late evening in late
Summer,
Streams through delicate orbs of web.
Suspended in a sea of leaves,
Three-dimensional domed traps,
Made of delicate lines of fractal rainbow light.
Like hanging doorways to other dimensions,
The spider has spun a whole world,
Where time is suspended,
And unsuspecting prey is captured
And flung through a portal,
From life to death.
